Fits better than some reviewers have assured me. It fits snugly, but because it's made of silicone, it's thicker, heavier, and very flexible compared to plastic storage lids. It doesn't "buckle" but should "sit down" on the edge of the pan. Due to the flexibility and thickness, it would be easier to "knock off" the lid, but not too much. I believe it is airtight if installed correctly. I'm guessing the designers made it out of silicone because the pan can still be warm when covered, and silicone is much more heat resistant than plastic. It should also break less with age. I have two set pans, so it's nice to have one in the fridge (closed tightly) and use the other for other dishes. Overall I am satisfied with the lid and can recommend it.
