This brush gets hot instantly and the 2 plastic combs are great but I don't use them. It leaves your hair straight which is what I was looking for. 4 stars because it is very thin. It is very light and the plastic used is very cheap. I don't know how long the shelf life is. The on/off switch and temperature dial are also pretty cheap. The temperature setting goes up to 500 so be careful as it burns easily. I liked the swivel cord. Overall good performance but poor design. hope it lasts
