Review on DB Electrical ADR1418 Alternator 8133268 by Robert Elder
Direct replacement part
Recharge the alternator! I disassembled the alternator housing, loosening 3 nuts securing the stator connector and one securing the long "lever" of the trio of diodes to the regulator assembly. Checking the components according to the manufacturer's service manual revealed that this part is defective. The replacement fixed that exact problem - tedious and dusty work, but cheaper than a new generator (everything else was still fully functional, so ymmv).
