The chair fits me, supports my 400+ pounds and is comfortable. I didn't order any guns. I have assembled four previous similar chairs from other sources but this build was not easy. The reinforcement corner on the back of the chair prevented the back from simply resting over the screw holes on the seat base. according to instructions. Never had this problem with previous chairs and is frustrating. I checked the product review comments for glimpses and one mentioned it was set under the seat base but they took it to a furniture store and paid for the fitting. I moved away to wait out the night before the next move. The next day the required assembly process came up and might be useful for others. > Placed the seat on a 24" x 48" folding table and pressed it firmly against the wall. > Using a large Phillips head screwdriver I loosened the screws attaching the seat base to the seat and moved the seat back to the edge of the table. > Raise the back of the chair upside down to partially slide the mounting bracket under the seat base. > Raise both the seat and backrest so that the top of the backrest was resting on the table and the seat was leaning against the wall. > I leaned towards the back of the seat to slide it further under the seat bottom. I continued to apply pressure to it while inserting the two front hex screws and finger tightening. (It's good to have a mass log for this part.) > Still leaning on the back of the seat, use the allen wrench to alternately tighten the two screws to distribute the pressure evenly until snug but not complete . > Fit and tighten the other two hex head screws. > Fully tighten the hex head screws in the seat base before fully tightening the other two hex head screws. > Using both hands, tighten the Phillips head screws on the back of the seat base and then the screws of the front seat base. The photo shows the base of the seat inverted with the backrest attached. After that, it was easy to put the top chair on the foot base. While this is not a chair that is vertically adjustable. Not sure how the air strut is adjusted as the lever determines whether or not the backrest reclines. The knob under the seat is used to adjust the tilt tension, although it doesn't really seem to do anything. The chair height drawing is glued in. The additional assembly instructions page on the Safco website did not help with this matter. I even tried, on a whim, to rotate the chair in any direction to adjust, but to no avail. The chair can be used at a low height, but I would like it to be higher. I didn't ask Safco for help as most help centers are pretty unhelpful. (Updated 06/04/2019). I briefly thought of a pneumatic piston to adjust the height of a new chair when I envisioned a lever turning a blade on a piston. I realized that I hadn't lifted the lever with enough force to push the blade down and release the hydraulic piston. He got up, twisted the lever all the way, and the chair immediately rose. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't say anything about it. (Updated on 06/10/2019). This morning I rolled over in my chair and the hydraulic ram failed to hold the position and lowered the chair to its lowest height. I never touched the lever. Now my knees are higher than my hips. When I stand up, the seat of the chair goes up and when I sit down, it goes down. I rarely changed altitude, so a piston failure frustrated me. With a few folded towels and a big pillow, I sit at my favorite height. I will contact Safco about this. Even if I accidentally stumble upon a new plunger assembly, it's nearly impossible to separate the old one from the base of the chair and seat base at home. I figured it was necessary to buy a non-tilt chair with height adjustment on a screw post.
