Virtually useless
I tried using the thermometer for a few kitchen tasks. As a meat thermometer, it took over a minute to get a fairly stable reading while slowly creeping up. It is only measured in Celsius, if you press the button to switch to Fahrenheit the display will stay for a few seconds and then it will show Celsius again. I learned how to convert Fahrenheit recipes to Celsius.
