Review on LCM for Oracle Tools by Michael Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Has great features and a solid back-end, but not user friendly

Very user friendly with multiple options for workflows. Also, there are great support functions that allow you to get what you need to use in a simple way. The installation and configuration process is really lengthy and confusing. If you are not a technical person, this could be very difficult. You need to invest a lot of time in the learning process. We use the tool to track our builds and deployments. This allows us to track the release and also keep a history of all changes. I like the easy integration with many of the tools we use, like Jenkins, GitOps, and others. I dislike the lack of a good mobile app, and the fact that I can't create a custom rule. The fact that I can't add my own rules or create my own fields is a pain. The UI is very clunky and difficult to use. I would recommend looking at other products. We are trying to improve our release process and our version management, but LCM is one of the best solutions we've found.

Pros
  • It's cross platform compatible which makes it possible if using more platforms than just Java EE ones even though most people do so nowadays! The web interface gives lots information about current state (e.g build results) without having too much data loaded onto client computer/browser memory while rendering pages; thus reducing load times dramatically as compared eith some 3rd party
Cons
