I own a 1997 Dakota V6 with over 200,000 miles on it. I bought this pump because my pump had worn out so much over time that I only had power steering when I was idling around 1200 rpm. This made me think my pump was worn out! I haven't had this restored pump in over two weeks and already the bearing has failed and is screaming from under the hood. The pump components continue to work properly, but the bearing fails/fails with a crack. I'm one of those guys who grew up with a mechanic dad, so I fix my cars myself, and I can't tell you how tired I am of buying 'new' junk just to put it in the car grab and then pull him out again. If the manufacturer wants to claim I've damaged it, so be it, but I have a puller that will fit any power steering pump pulley and I have an extensive mechanic's tool kit. I don't work in the backyard and don't like to keep changing parts until I find someone who finally makes a product worth buying. They only fixed half of what was wrong with this pump and the shaft bearing is not up to standard.
