So I decided to get rid of my ISP gear and finally got this along with SG-2220 with pfSense, managed 8 port PoE switch and Ubiquiti AP AC Lite. This thing lasted about a month before it started dropping my WAN connection multiple times a day. At first I thought my firewall was catching bad packets and dropping the connection, but after looking at the logs it turned out that the modem was just repeatedly dropping the WAN connection for no apparent reason. I was troubleshooting this issue for about 2 weeks before deciding to call Netgear support. You have to register the device, and then you will be told that the warranty is only 3 months. I'm sorry but any company that gives a 3 month warranty on electronics has no confidence in their product. Customer support is fully outsourced and I had to spend several days "troubleshooting" before they agreed to return the unit. The first day I was on hold for almost an hour and was simply told to restart the device and leave it alone for 24 hours to see if it happens again. Although I've told them I've restarted this thing multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks in every way I can. I called the next day, another long wait, was told to restart it differently and give another 24 hours. I've been struggling with this because I've been doing this for days. I'm a network administrator and I know how to solve these problems. The lady on the phone just hung up. In the end, as a "techie" with me, I looked at the event logs on the device itself and indeed it found a hardware error. Once the RMA was set up I sent it out within 2 days (which you have to pay for) and then they sent a new one back using the slowest possible option and it took me a week to get it back. New here, I've had it for a week now with no problems, but let's knock on wood and see what happens. much about Netgears belief in their own products. Got an RMA after almost a week of "troubleshooting" with support drones in the end, had to pay to send the faulty one back, the new one has been fine for a week now. Will update when heading south again.
