Review on New Balance Fresh Running Silver Men's Shoes and Athletic by Bryan Covington

Unusually narrow shoes for New Balance

I run (a lot) in New Balance running shoes and wear at least 20 pairs across 10 different styles (MT110 [6 pairs!], 730 v1, 730 v2, Vazee Rush v1, Vazee Rush v2, Vazee Summit [3 pairs], Zante [2 pairs], Zante Pursuit, FuelCore Rush, FuelCore Impulse, Gobi Trail [2 pairs] , Fresh Foam Beacon [2 pairs], Fresh Foam Hierro,.). I wore the men's 9.5 2E. There were slight differences in fit due to the material and construction of the different models, but I consistently use the 9.5 2E in New Balance road and trail running shoes. As I walk a lot I need new shoes regularly and on a budget I'm always looking for funky colors or discontinued styles to save some money. I figured these shoes might be a good buy priced at around $44 and wasn't concerned about the width of the 4E as a bit more would be fine for what I was aiming for as a lightweight running shoe. Unfortunately, the Fresh Foam Evare v1, in a size 9.5 4E, was the slimmest shoe I've tried to squeeze my feet into for over a decade, to the point where it was uncomfortable to wear for more than a few minutes . Even if they fit properly I don't think I could run in them as they were also incredibly stiff (both in the forefoot and in torsion) with almost zero midsole flex. It may improve over time, but I won't be the one to find out. If they fit you they might be good for those who are on their feet all day and need good support, but I don't think they will work as running shoes.
