Review on πŸ“Ά Asus USB-AC56 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Adapter with Wireless-AC1300 and USB 3.0 Connectivity by Stanislaw Lambach ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

The adapter intermittently turned off when using the 5GHz band. The problem was solved in the following way. I found the ASUS USB-AC56 page on Wikidevi () which states that the device is based on the Realtek RTL8812AU chip. There is also a link to the latest drivers for this chipset: . Tw/DOWNLOADS/downloadsView. Aspx? Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=64&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false. After installing them, the problems with disconnects are gone. I installed these drivers through the device manager as an ate over the old ones.

Pros
  • β€’ Excellent design β€’ 2 Wi-Fi frequency bands (2.4GHz/5GHz) β€’ 8022022ac β€’ Beautiful cradle (docking station) included
Cons
  • β€’ No, except for the bad drivers from ASUS (complete, and those available on their website). See comment.
