I was hesitant to buy these things. The adverts looked too good to be true, and other people's video reviews online - well, let's just say these people acted like they weren't working that well. It turns out that most of them just don't understand how to use them. I haven't had any problems with mine, although of course I have suggestions on how they can be improved. (although I could use a size between 2 and 3 and between 4 and 5). They really made a big difference, especially when drawing my right hand (I'm right-handed). Seriously - big difference, just a bit of dirt on my cuticles - too bad there isn't a device to protect this area yet. Also, my nail polish was still able to reach the edges of my nail for full coverage (almost full coverage - I think two of my nails may have missed a side split - very small - only I do it anally. : ). Actually I was very impressed. And I used dark polish for my first attempt at using them. A few tips - please make sure each one fits specifically on the nail and not your finger. (This may have been an issue with some video reviews as the polish didn't reach too far to the edges of the nail - these people seem to choose sizes to fit fingers, not nails. Not a good choice.) - Set safe You apply the color directly to the devices themselves - so your nail polish lands on the edge of the nail. (Again a few videos - people tried not to draw on the device and missed the edges of the nails. That defeats the whole purpose of these things.) And - based on some video reviews - if you have very short nails - if you're bitten have them or they are broken - don't worry about this product. They only work when you have nail growth to allow the device to hook onto the top of the nail. If your nails fall a little on the tip of your finger, they should be made square. And they should be suitable for very long nails - not high, but longer nails. Another thing they will hopefully change - I wish the plus sizes were shorter - my thumb was a size 8 - but due to the way the thumbs are shaped the protection wasn't as snug on the nail as it was for me. I would like it as the thumb is slightly bent. If they were a third shorter it would help keep them even closer to the nail. Although I was very good at it. Oh, and there's a trick to gently peeling them off while your nails are drying - just give them a few minutes to dry a bit - then press down on either side of the device from the top of your nails finger the other side of your nails - almost as if you're pressing them down - and then slide off the top of your finger. Fits me perfectly - no scratches, no polishing. When in doubt, just wait for your polish to dry I guess. Anyway - I would definitely recommend trying them out - they made a HUGE difference for me. There were many sizes to choose from, although as I said, half sizes would have been even easier for me. : ) Also the price for the little plastic nozzles seems a bit high - but I think they invented something that not many places have - and really works - so I think we should pay more now. The good news is that if you have them - you have them - one set should do the trick for you. *** And my update - as I continue to use them - they are essential for touching up my fingertips. (My secret is to keep the manicure 2+ weeks.) Simply repair any chips, then repaint the top third of the nail - top coat and you're done. These little things get the job done quickly and neatly! Wow! Oh, and I forgot to mention that I can only work with one hand at a time - having those things on my hand to polish with just doesn't work for me. Again - not too bad as I can gently remove them from a hand that has just been polished and - gently - place them on the other hand and polish.
