Review on πŸ’§ Enhance Your Water Filtration System with Watts Premier WPRL 58 WP500024 Replacement by Mary Scott

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Year after year I can count on Watts!

I've been installing Watts reverse osmosis filters for decades For friends, family and every time we move. So I changed a lot of filter elements. I find Watts filters to be the best available, especially carbon filters. I am very technical and have specified many filters for the chemical industry. I'm looking at the difference between activated carbon, carbon block, carbon pellets, etc. The carbon block is best suited for use with a reverse osmosis element. Activated carbon is best suited for a polishing filter, that is, the last one before the tap. Different types of carbon can remove different toxins and poisons, and some of them remove particles of different micron sizes. Some of them can be used as reverse osmosis elements while others are designed for full flow like we use in our veggie sink. Smaller micron elements see a higher pressure drop, hence a lower flow rate. Be careful not to purchase filter elements made specifically for reverse osmosis systems. Don't worry with this Watts pick. I was glad this twin pack hit the market. It's handy to have spares and reminds me when it's time to change them. I don't put off ordering new ones when I have a spare set. It also allows me to wait for the sale. Replacement Watts are slightly more expensive than others available. However, I don't mind paying a little more for a consistently higher quality product. Don't just rely on the price. A problem area that led to four instead of five stars. Watts makes many different models. They use different types of carbon in different reverse osmosis systems. I don't know why they do it. Since the largest carbon filter element fits many models, I will use a carbon block when Watts specifies a different type of carbon. Their technical department told me it was acceptable and so far I haven't had any problems.
