Did the job for a formal cocktail party although if you need an 'evening bag' often I would opt for something of a higher quality that will hold up better. The bag is very rigid and while it should be quite large given the size and depth, it really only fits one layer of stuff due to the rigidity. For example, if you put a compact cosmetic bag next to lipstick, the purse will be too full to close. You need to put the lipstick on the powder compact. Hope this makes sense and helps someone, it's a bit hard to explain.
