I took the risk of choosing these blankets and moved on! As I was preparing my emergency kit for the next big earthquake that would devastate Southern California, I figured I had to have at least one on hand, so I figured I'd be happy with that - to my surprise, what came in the mail was better than me. Expected. The four packs of space blankets are self-explanatory — each is a 52” x 84” sheet of aluminum and "QuiteEZ”-branded Mylar that easily wraps around all but the largest of bodies, and if that's a problem, you can use a channel tape to make it bigger. They come individually wrapped and folded into something no bigger than a man's handbag and fold out into the most versatile tool in your emergency kit - you've got one on hand, right? Far from telling how to live your life, but if you live in an area where earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and snowstorms make you want to duck or leave home at any time, then you will get the basics have to live as comfortably as you? maybe for a few days? If you plan well, uncertainty will be the least of your problems. If you've done your research, these ceilings can be much larger. They'll keep you warm in cold climates and are naturally waterproof when you're uncovered. They are highly reflective for easy detection and signaling and are not opaque enough that you cannot see through them, which unfortunately can be a problem. For better or worse, the duvet isn't much thicker than an onion skin and will tear easily once it starts to tear - keep duct tape on you if you want to extend the life of the duvet. According to the Wikipedia article, space blankets can also be repurposed as animal shelters and bedding, and used to protect against infrared radiation. With four on hand you'll have enough for your family or a few extras to share and other projects if you're into DIY projects that get published online and written in books. Depending on how bad things are, you could be without the comforts of home for a day or two, which only gets worse when fall or winter arrives. Brace yourself and get a space blanket, even if it isn't one.
