I bought this watch as a gift because it looked very stylish and durable. Upon opening it, I quickly decided I would be uncomfortable giving it to anyone, so I returned it in favor of another black and gold watch. First, the watch is very attractive in * appearance. * in. However, it's not very useful for anything else. Even in daylight, the digital display is barely legible. It's incredibly intuitive considering the benefit of a digital watch is its easy readability. The black tips of analog watch faces also tend to blend with black displays, and the amount of clutter (like the black gear wheel in the center and left dial) seems largely for form over function. I hoped. A backlight would improve the readability of the display, but unfortunately there is ONE yellow-orange LED at the very bottom, which illuminates the dial unevenly. In comparison, my G Shock DW-6900 has a fantastic LCD backlight that evenly illuminates the entire screen and costs a third of the price of this model. While it has the G Shock branding and durability, it has lost a lot of its functionality in return. to be a "fashion watch" for people who want something that looks neat but isn't used in favor of a watch on a smartphone.
