These hangers ARE the full 17 inch size advertised and I'm glad I got them. As another reviewer pointed out, they had a noticeable smell of freshly sawn wood when they arrived, but I let them air out for a week and it wore off enough that I was comfortable using them in my closet. The package is open and I accidentally cut off the bottom strap with scissors, but when I was alerted, I opened the second package more successfully. The hooks on the ones I have do NOT rotate so I have to be careful how I hang the hanger on my clothes but other than that they look good and look like they will keep my knit tops from getting out of shape fall. Overall I'm satisfied, but I don't know if I'll buy again.
