I have always cooked pasta with a manual machine. These units are not difficult to use, but over time they have become somewhat labor intensive for me. This can also be an issue when trying to securely attach the clip to the counter and position the unit in the right spot so there is enough room for flouring and drying. Switching from roller to cutter with the handle is cumbersome. I've had my eye on the Kitchen Aid pasta maker for years but didn't want to spend the money. I bought this appliance to see if it would be a cheaper and more convenient tool for me to cook pasta faster and more efficiently. It's a three-in-one device that fits easily into the Kitchen Aid blender attachment and rolls out pasta of various thicknesses as well as cuts fettuccine and angel hair spaghetti. It is packaged in a professional looking box and comes with a one year replacement warranty. The kit includes: * An instruction leaflet with recipes * A card with pasta making tips, care and other tips * Information on how to get a free e-book * Cleaning brush Overall this works very well. You can't make noodles as thin as you can with a hand crank, but it's worth it for the huge improvements in speed and convenience. Note that the instructions mention angel hair in one section and spaghetti in another section. In fact, the nozzle makes spaghetti out of angel hair, nothing thicker. You can't make thicker spaghetti with it. A key benefit of this unit over the Kitchen Aid pasta maker is that one part does three things: no interchangeable roller for blades, interchangeable knives, etc. The body is plastic, not metal. I'd have preferred an all metal block and additional adjustments for a thinner blade and a larger diameter spaghetti cutter instead of angel hair. These minor imperfections are the reason for my 4 star rating, not 5. I LOVE pasta and it's just fun, quick and easy.
