Hand washed the product twice, once in the dishwasher and still when I freeze ice in it transparent films appear in my drinks. I have tried distilled, still and tap water but the result is the same. The ice tray itself is very easy to use but I am very dissatisfied with the product itself. UPDATE After reading the reviews I decided to cook them in boiling water for ten minutes. it did reduce the white/clear flaky residue BUT IT WAS NOT REMOVED COMPLETELY, but that's even after 5 or 6 very vigorous hand washings. The seller recommended using distilled water, explaining that since it's silicone, it absorbs impurities from the water. NON REAL silicone shouldn't do this and I have silicone baby food cube trays and have bought 2 sets of silicone ice cube trays from another brand that DO NOT make this film. The seller assured it's drinkable, but just because it's food-grade silicone doesn't mean people want to drink it. COOKING IT FOR 10 MINUTES TO USE is way too much work and frankly I find it unsafe. it was more difficult to sterilize than baby bottles. In the end it just wasn't worth doing again, I had to throw it away. Sorry I took the pictures before.
