This is an amazingly solid TV to sit on can stand. It's a lot stronger than some of the stands that come with the larger sets. I am using it for an older 42" LG plasma which is dresser mounted so it runs at full power and is still very stable. The instructions are pretty clear and everything is well labeled. to mount the TV. Others commented that the holes weren't aligned properly and a few new holes had to be drilled. Mine matched perfectly. The photo shows holes in the top half of the stand and long slots in the bottom half, but it's actually drilled all the way through. Be very careful when reinstalling the plastic side covers (purely cosmetic). They have very brittle tabs to snap them in and if misaligned they will bend and break. I even made it after I read all the complaints, the plastic covers are broken, but are quite firm even without small protrusions. I am surprised at how high the tv is over the dresser. That's actually higher than I'd like, so bear that in mind. It was a cheaper and simpler solution than wall-mounting a large TV, which might be placed elsewhere in the near future. Very happy with it.
