Well, we got this with the intention that I'd be working in the garage during a tolerable Arizona summer. I don't expect snow in the garage. We have 2 air conditioners, upstairs and downstairs and we keep the temperature around 78. The garage which is part of the house benefits indirectly from both air conditioners keeping the house cool. Yes, the garage indirectly benefits from air conditioning at home, but it doesn't make the garage a workable place when the outside temperature is 116. This air conditioning is essential to keep the garage in a tolerable condition in which to work. A little sweat is not a suggestion, but I don't want to get drenched in sweat. I set the temp to 80 to see how long it would take to get there. . from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., working at height, he never got there. The temperature only got to 100 because we just had a cold snap from storm activity. Before that it was 116 and more. I changed the setting to 90 to see if it can achieve that. That couldn't be. Well, to be fair, if I could set it up to blow straight at me I might not be so upset, but it's poorly constructed. It has a small hole for cold air to exit. The octet oscillates as they describe it, meaning it expands and closes. Tried to test it to see if there is a difference and not. It would be more efficient if the outlet was straight and moved left and right. Because it's designed that way, I'd have to stand next to it just to experience the cooling effect. The fan isn't very powerful, and even when testing it, I stood right next to it with my hand near the vent to see if I could use it. No, old window air conditioners from the 70's and 80's blew out more cold air than this thing ever dreamed of. I even looked at the picture they presented. A guy with a bad haircut holds a child in one hand and works on a laptop with the other. Then I went and looked at pictures of the 450 square meter apartments. I call BS that this air conditioner can cool a 450 square foot apartment unless it is somewhere north but not south especially south west. Honeywell knows that. They have big factories here in Arizona. Now when my wife informed me that she had chosen this air conditioner and it was from Honeywell, I told her that it was great. I've known Honeywell most of my life. Good company, quality products, good attitude towards their employees. I appreciate Honeywell. Well this air conditioner has to be the biggest disappointment I have experienced from Honeywell. They are or were a smarter company. This AC tells me they don't try to keep up with their own standards. To be honest, that little vent moving up and down can't push out enough air to make a difference in a 450 square foot room. In my garage it just needed to supplement my two air conditioners at home and it couldn't even get the garage temp below 90 degrees on a 100 degree day. Closed garage that is mid 90's. I just wanted mid 80s and it might drop below 90 in 6 hours. Lesson learned, I will not blindly trust Honeywell like I once did. I would not recommend this product. I read a review where a guy bought this for his RV and he loved it. For reference, there are much cheaper AC units you can get for a camper that doesn't take up as much space. a 400 square foot RV would be considered luxurious. Then take into account that there are beds and other furniture, so the air conditioning needed to cool even a luxury camper is not as good as claimed. Also, the Alexa app sucks. Tried to contact him, he wanted my phone or email and he kept telling me my name was wrong. Therefore, using Alexa is a failure. To open the remote control to insert the batteries, you need to press the center and then the back. There are no instructions on the remote or instructions on how to open it.
