I recently bought a new car without a CD player. At first I didn't think it was a problem, but I quickly realized how much I miss my loved ones. I bought a portable CD player to plug in so I can still listen to some of my favorite CDs. The only thing I had to worry about was the audio jack cable, so I bought one. The cable length was perfect for what I needed. Anything over 3 feet would be a confusing disaster in a car. The cable seemed very strong and not too flexible. The ends of the cord where there were plugs or inserts appeared to be thick and reinforced for added protection against damaging the cord from excessive bending. I regularly experience a few annoying things with this cable. I don't always get consistent audio sound. In some cases, the sound comes and goes, like when a radio loses signal. When it doesn't go out completely, it sounds like it's far, far away. At this point, the sound can be very muffled. The only way I can describe it is like listening to music from a speaker with a pillow placed in front of it. This doesn't always happen, and when it does I can usually easily fix it by unplugging the audio jack completely and then plugging it back in. So yes, it's very easy to fix, but it's definitely an inconvenience, especially with the new cable.
