So here it is: The racks these things stand on come in three parts so they can be shipped in one box and need assembly. Unfortunately, the thread is less than 5mm or 0.2 inch. If you try to stick it in the ground or something (I know, imagine a tiki torch in the ground - it's not like they put a dot on the end so it's like a stake or what can always be driven into the ground - something else, but I digress), it will snap, and then the threads will separate and never be tight together again. See my photos and videos. Very disappointing as they REALLY reminded my wife and I of our honeymoon in Maui. I can always substitute $10 pipe from the hardware store or bamboo poles if I can get them, although I find it a bit ridiculous that they sell them for what they are and I still have to $$ spend $ to fix them! The posts are complete rubbish. Like giving them back or throwing them in the trash.
