Review on Aqua Pure AP430SS Water System Protector: Optimal Defense for Your Water System by Aravind Joshi

I almost never leave reviews, but I have to rate this product. Bought as a water softener. I have very hard water and really didn't want to bother with salt delivery so I did it out of desperation with low expectations. Over the years I've tried tricks on the market with 0.00% results (an electric coil springs to mind). After two months of use, I can say that it actually prevents about 75% of limescale build-up. Instead of hard-to-remove scale and large chunks of sediment, I'm seeing more white dust in my faucet aerators. After removing all my aerators for inspection, I see 75% less solid clogs. My dishwasher also has a white coating on the inside instead of hard limescale everywhere. My wife says glassware comes out of the washing machine much cleaner. So far, so good. I'm not sure how long this "filter" will last, but I'm ok with the cost of replacing it every few months if the need arises. Could take longer, not sure yet. Incidentally, I installed this filter in my instantaneous water heater just before the water entered. Installation is easy. Use Sharkbite PTC fittings, hoses and don't forget to add a SharkBite ball valve before and after the filter. Pretty simple build.
