Review on HappyLuxe Blanket Cashmere Friendly Accessories Women's Accessories by Tracy Heidebrink

I was looking at reviews looking for a nice travel wrap and based on the rave reviews I decided HappyLuxe was the one for me. I ordered both Jet Black and Brushed Jet Black to determine which would work best for my needs. I opened Jet Black and my first impression was that it was overpriced and it was just a piece of overcast 95/5 micromodal fabric. (Yes, it also has a warmer pocket, but that's not really an added value in my opinion. In fact, it's one of the few things that other reviewers have complained about!) That said, if you can get over the price, it is very soft. it feels beautiful and is also very light - which can be a plus or a minus depending on what you're looking for. Also, I can't tell how it will look/fall after washing (more on that below!). Then I opened the brushed black and immediately thought: THIS IS IT! It's heavier (ie warmer) than jet black, the fabric is soft to the touch (like cashmere!), drapes beautifully and aside from the pocket it's everything I hoped it would be! Worth every penny! So why the rave review but 1 star? Couldn't even stand up to gentle washing and air drying! I washed this alone in cold water on a "hand wash" cycle in my washing machine and it came out of the washing machine looking like it had a ruffled edge! (It was difficult to fully capture this in the attached photos, but I know it looks even worse in them!) When I saw this, I really hoped that this was a temporary phenomenon and that it would smooth out when I did spread it out horizontally and let it air dry, but it wasn't. Unfortunately, this can no longer be worn as a cape because it looks too casual. The fabric itself still feels great so I think I can still use it as a lap cover but I could buy a cover for a lot less.
