Review on Mouse A4Tech X-718BK, black by Wiktor Kowalczyk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied with the product, I recommend it to everyone.

After 20 minutes of playing F. E.A. R. the hand was so tired that I had to stop and rest. I had to fight mainly not with bots, but with a mouse - its thick and heavy cable terribly hinders movement. And this despite the fact that the X-718BK itself glides on the mat significantly better than my old X-718F! What to do is absolutely not clear. On the one hand, the 718BK is clearly better than the 718F in terms of technical characteristics. On the other hand, a heavy, rigid USB cord negates all its advantages. Perhaps this mouse can only be recommended to those who have the system unit on the table. All other people who have a system unit on the floor (and, therefore, whose mouse cord will hang down and constantly rub against the edge of the table during movements) will surely get tired quickly. Personally, I partially compensated for the problem of difficult movement due to the heavy cable by switching the optics to a more sensitive mode, but it's still unpleasant. A4Tech seriously messed up in this case. Of course, I fully admit that I had such inconvenience with the cable only because I was used to the thin and weightless cable of the old 718F, but I think it’s time for A4Tech to switch all their mice to thin cables in order to avoid such nonsense .

Pros
  • Unexpectedly soft, smooth and precise cursor movement, I did not expect this from simple optics. I also liked the ribbed elastic band on the left side. At first, it is unusual to feel the rough coating of the mouse body itself with the palm of your hand, but you quickly get used to it and all other mice with a smooth body then seem slippery.
Cons
  • Inconvenient USB cable (thick, bends with great difficulty, weighs a lot).
