Review on πŸ”₯ Trillium Worldwide Car Cozy TWI-1001N 2 - 12-Volt Heated Travel Blanket (Navy, 58" x 42") with Advanced Safety Timer by Phil Casey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

As advertised and great price. Just bought a second one.

Bought blanket for a winter hike in the Southwest; It works like a blanket warmer. You don't need a blanket that's hot to the touch unless you want to burn yourself. Heated blankets should keep you a little more warm than a non-electric blanket, which essentially kickstarts your body's natural heat. The timer is for your own safety, which is both necessary and annoying; It's for your own good, but if you're using it for winter camping (an old trailer tent with 12-volt plugs runs on solar and marine batteries), like we do, you might wake up to hit the reset button. We use it under our sleeping bags (increases the heat and such) and works great at 30Β° (+/-). This worked well enough for our Great Dane mix to take over the bed, so we're getting one for him now. It fits two normal-sized people (but not two adults plus a large dog). If you use it OVER yourself it only really covers an average sized person. Pros: * Heats up well and keeps the temperature longer if you put it under a sleeping bag. * Warms up well when thrown on in the car. * 12V Camping/Car * The price couldn't be better than what you get. * Offers two timer settings like most travel blankets. * Doesn't decrease battery life noticeably as it restarts 2 or 3 times on a very cold night. :* It has a timer which is necessary for your own safety *12V does not work in a normal household socket. (Adaptors are available, we recommend just buying a standard home EB plug) *Solid color is more expensive than checkered. if it bothers you. try a different brand outlet. On that note, if he's only going to be fed intermittently while he's well seated, replace him with a new blanket; Everything has a lifetime, and sometimes things go wrong. (We haven't had this experience with this blanket, but if we did, I would have no hesitation in replacing/exchanging it.) *Not the largest electric blanket on the market, but comparable to other travel EBs. Conclusion: We just bought another one for the purposes mentioned above. At night the temperature dropped to a high 20Β°C and we were fine, we just had to reset the reset timer to 1 or 2 times more than the middle of the 30Β° range. I'll (possibly) update the review once I know the full lifespan.

Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
