I recently purchased the Filterbuy 17.5X21X5 Air Filter MERV 13 Optimal Defense (2-Pack) for my Rheem HVAC system. While I appreciate the effectiveness of these filters in removing contaminants from the air, I was disappointed with the price. At almost double the cost of some comparable filters, I expected to see a noticeable improvement in air quality. While I have noticed some improvement, I'm not convinced it's worth the cost. That being said, these filters are well-made and fit my system perfectly. They also have a MERV 13 rating, which means they trap a high percentage of small particles. If air quality is a top priority for you, these filters may be worth the extra cost. Overall, I give the Filterbuy 17.5X21X5 Air Filter MERV 13 Optimal Defense a 3-star rating. While they are effective, they are also pricey compared to other options on the market.
