The pads themselves are soft, but even thicker ones are not thick enough. It seems thick enough, but so soft that it completely collapses with every squeeze. The nose area is very uncomfortable and I found the edges often poked my nose and face, forcing me to adjust the fit to avoid this rather than increase overall comfort. The original valves are better but still flimsy in my opinion. The material is soft but doesn't react well to sweat and ends up feeling like it's just stuck to my face. I intend to add a few cloth cases I got from VR Cover to see if they mitigate any of these shortcomings, but I have a feeling the edges of the pads hitting my nose will remain a deal breaker.
