A French friend who is an excellent cook had this appliance in her kitchen. After she explained how to use it and I made my first perfectly cooked eggs, I tried to buy them locally. However, the store was sold out and a replenishment date is unknown. I was glad to find it on Revain! It's about half the size of an egg, sliced open vertically and thrown into a pan with eggs. It's easy to read, with settings showing readiness for both soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs. It is perfectly preserved after repeated use in boiling water. My days of spoiled boiled eggs - too soft or too hard - are finally over.
