I am very picky about my work and laptop bags. Outside pockets of different sizes. So I like an outer pocket that has two inner pockets for a large cell phone, ID card, compact or small wallet, cell phone charger, pen, etc. On the opposite side is a tight 1.5-inch elastic with three 5-inch wide ones sections. It accommodates the battery and USB-C laptop cable, outlet cable extension, and has no protruding bulkiness when the zipper is closed. I hate that. I like the feature that it doesn't zip all the way around to minimize accidental falls out when folding and removing from the case. This can help keep the device from falling to the ground when you're having a butterfly moment. The inner laptop compartment is soft and well lined. The surrounding inner rim, including the corners, is thick. The outer pocket has a thinner lining, but it's enough to protect the laptop battery. The 15.6-inch HP Specter fits in easily, taking up about 1.25 inches horizontally. Vertically, the distance between the edge of the machine and the inside top edge is about the width of your index finger. With the factory socket it fits perfectly, no gaps. I was surprised that this flip top case fits a laptop. In my opinion the interior is quite well padded so any movement inside is not a problem. When writing this review, I sprayed the bag with water from a spray bottle. The water rose and rolled down. The moisture never penetrated and after about fifteen minutes the hand no longer felt wet. The material feels solid and well made. I'll see how the stitching and handle hold up over time. I bought the black bag at full price and is an independent customer review.
