Dimming but poor quality

I liked Blackout and it really is 'Blackout', but the only gripe is that the honeycomb lampshade material is almost paper-like. I have previously purchased this brand from another site (but not Blackout) and have not had this issue. I wasn't expecting this stuff. Disappointed. As you can see in the picture there is a thin band of light around the curtains - I measured the window accurately and it appears to be off. It won't be terrible when I add the curtains, but it still drives me crazy visually.

Pros

For example, you want to let in some light but not let other people see in. Just pull the curtain down a bit, above the level of most viewers, to enjoy the best of both worlds!
