My VW has an odor coming from the AC condenser that I couldn't get rid of. Using this device has greatly reduced the smell. I think the performance is worth the modest price. Incidentally, as an engineer, I was also skeptical about what was in the device. A typical USB charger with LED doesn't make that very faint high frequency noise that can be heard when the fan and radio are off. So I carefully took it apart and also found what another reviewer described as an epoxy protected box with a wire attached. However, it's not clear to me, if the company just wants to make a fake ionizer, then why waste money on this box and solder it to the circuit board? I think this box is an important component that charges the wire to create negative ions.
