I wanted to use them for spiral knit socks. I figured it would be easier to track color changes, I used colons. This and the yarn used was thinner than my regular sock yarn so I took it out to try. I wouldn't tell you I was a tight knitter before. I started the project on Monday, this Tuesday evening, and on two I've already broken off the tip. I found booklets of a similar size that I just bought as replacements. These DPNs were a disaster for me. They have greatly reinforced my fondness for the Magic Loop for knitting small diameters in the round.
