Still taking them apart. First impression: very, very good for orchestral music, especially strings. Strings of all types sound fantastic: guitar, lute, violin - from Paul O'Dette to Prince, they are simply fantastic. similar in style, size and accuracy. I revered and still love the original Anniversary LS50s for their clarity and impartiality. They are good for capturing the human voice - sopranos have never sounded so clear and precise: Absolute fidelity, without added color. The metas are very similar, except - and I haven't read that anywhere - they seem to be tonally warmer. . Perhaps the point lies in the expanded perception of the lower area. I use a Yamaha Natural Sound AS-2000 Advanced Amplifier for the metas. I changed my Spotify settings to max data and turned off the EQ for more dynamics. There's no point in having speakers that can tell you the full story of your music if you're not rendering them lossless or as close as possible. My Yamaha Super Audio CD player provides excellent source material for these metas. (I've invested too much in this CD collection to throw it away or sell it.) I believe Yamaha's finest components offer refinement alongside performance. I have yet to experience the power of metas with my monstrous, more powerful AdCom565SE amp. Being familiar with KEF's extensive range of speakers, I know that KEF likes to drink juice. I can listen to these speakers for hours, the pleasure of hearing more is so nice! In the meantime, I endorse this suggestion, echoed by other reviewers: The Metas reproduce their ohms best from a Class A or AB amplifier rated at 80 or more watts per channel, wired with 12-gauge, low-or not associated with any oxygen content. Do they run with less power? Yes. Not only performance is important, but also quality. In any case, an attentive listener is unlikely to be disappointed by these metas. You can also break the window. Right out of the box and for a few days afterwards, there's a very strong chemical smell - it smells like epoxy, but it's likely a proprietary magical material invented by KEF to house this genius.
