They are thin and not as sharp as expected. They require more effort than the aging oxo knife I was hoping to replace. They also have this little detail inside that doesn't allow the blades to actually rotate, so they can't adjust to slight changes in the potato's texture. The only way to make them sharp is with prongs, otherwise they won't have an edge. I'm also concerned that the handles will break during use and the plastic will become sharp if it tears, hence a safety hazard. And while some review videos show good work with pumpkin or yams, in real life they've failed utterly with Jicama, which doesn't bode well for anything else with a fibrous surface. Since they're serrated, they can come in handy on the few occasions when I really need a serrated knife. (Sorry, Jacques Pepin, no one actually peels peppers and tomatoes.) However, I'll probably just buy an oxo peeler like I should have. Take it from a real chef - don't believe the good reviews from non-chefs even though the videos are impressive.
