I have marble windowsills. I wanted to buy a windowsill for my cats. I've tried suction cups, but I live in Florida and suction cups come out of the heat at least every few days. So I thought this model would be better. Since the only security measures I could use were staples and velcro on the windowsill, they are very unstable and cats don't use them. The other reliable thing are the bolts that go through the seat and into the sill. I will not spoil the marble. If you have wooden window sills this item can be strong and great, but only if you can't drill through the window sill and the ad doesn't say anything about it.
