Review on ๐Ÿ’ป M350 Compact Mini-ITX PC Enclosure with PicoPSU Compatibility by Erik Wesley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Interesting design but could be better

Maybe they just sent me a case but I think it's too hard to open. I have to make a real effort to get the top back up so I can lift it and it doesn't just lift up, you have to get it in just the right position to tip it back. It usually takes me a full five minutes to open the thing and wiggle and squeeze. Also, the power button doesn't really feel solid or professional. I also have a problem with the front connectors. I'm not sure how the ITX mobiles are positioned differently, but I have the 24-pin power connector right in front of the power connector and the USB connector on the case. I can't connect them at all because then I can't connect the picoPSU and when the picoPSU is connected there isn't enough space for the front panel connectors. I was able to plug in the power supply, but I can't make a USB connection. Something needs to be changed here; the position of the case connector, picoPSU board or wiring (perhaps if the case connectors were closer to the side and came with LED instead of straight pin connectors on the wires; or maybe if the connectors were not directly on the board, rather attached to it would be the wires coming out about an inch or so. It would be nice if the case came with a short SATA cable and if the Molex connector could be removed, but in hindsight I'm not sure if the benefits of building your own box out of this outweigh the extra cost There are now loads of options from Intel, Zotac, etc. for small PCs, whether low power or a decent i5 processor, the Zotac Nano I have, takes about 1/3 the space of this MiniBox I put together a MiniBox myself because I wanted something with the best SFF graphics I could get and more RAM wanted (for some reason all NUCs don't seem to reach 8GB). But I'm more impressed with what they can do. o Plug in these NUCs these days, exclude anything you probably won't be using anyway due to lack of space in the frame (extra PCI slots, SATA ports, etc.).

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not sure
