Hat too small / mittens not shaped for human hands

I purchased the 12-24 month size. The hat was much too small for my 16-month old with an average-sized head. The tips of the straps barely touch under her chin; no way to velcro it, and a large portion of her forehead remained bare. The overall size of the mittens are appropriate for a 2-3 year old. However, the shape of the mittens does not fit a human hand. The thumb hole opens from the wrist of the mitten, and the length of the thumb is absurdly long.

Pros

This set is very cute and seems like good quality and will be warm for our daughter.

The hat may be too tight around some children's foreheads
