Back VINTAGE Enamel (not like teeth) and not porcelain

Beautifully made, beautifully packaged and protected. For some reason I thought the bowls were ceramic because when I read ENAMEL I think about my teeth and stuff. They are NOT ceramic. But it's great because I'm not worried about it breaking. The bowls pictured are the same size. Photo "depth of field" makes the front appear larger. Great color too. Hoping it works. The time will show. A bit of ENAMEL history: Early enamel pots were a coating of white enamel in a cast iron casserole dish. Enameled kitchen utensils today are covered with the same enamel. Cooking pots used to be enameled on the inside, but from the outside they looked (and were) like any other cast-iron pot. People needed a way to coat iron to prevent metallic taste or rust from getting into food and that was easy to clean without the hassle of cleaning, something more durable than the tin coatings used in copper.
