First off, let me say this is an awesome PLA. I've already rewound 4 spools in two months and have never experienced jams, sticking issues or misprints. They recommend using it at 220°C, which is a higher recommendation than most other PLAs I've used, but it worked great. I have no problem with PLA itself. The build mat/surface is a different story. My bed is 200 x 200 and this rug has at least 1 cm of open worktop on all sides. So the build mat is closer to 180 x 180. The build mat fully adheres to the PLA like an alligator to prey. With this rug you do NOT need an edge; However, at times he refuses to let go, to the point where he actually RIPS instead. It is also very sensitive to heat. If you do not let the bed cool down completely after assembly, the assembly mat can stretch and warp. Once it stretches, it cannot return to its original shape and therefore becomes useless at that point. Even if your bed isn't perfectly level, the PLA actually *embeds* itself into the mat. The mat virtually melts on direct contact with the nozzle and fuses with the PLA. I went through all four build mats that came with my PLA coils. Two were lost through fracture, two were lost through stretching while the plate was still warm. DURAMIC has to find the best balance. (Whether the plate needs to cool down before removing the part is also a purist's matter. I've never had an issue with distortion when removing parts with tape from a hot build plate, so don't argue with a full recovery time "correct".) So ALWAYS take a PLA. It's really good stuff and I'm really impressed with it so far. On the downside, the build mat is incredibly finicky. He's holding the piece, but he seems to be holding TOO tight. I'm going back to the masking tape now.
