Works just like the original in my car. Now I have a clean kit while the dirty filter is washed and dried. I have found that for some reason the bagless Dirt Devil only fills a third or half full and when I throw it away I like to put in a clean filter. So when I'm cleaning multiple rooms, I often have to stop and empty the bag. Tanks I have many filters to replace the dirty ones. The filters dry during the day and therefore cannot be used immediately. These HEPA filters perfectly keep the microscopic dust in the room. For an allergy sufferer it couldn't be better.
