First I want to say that I was adamant that I didn't need a landing pad, it was a waste of money and I could find any place to take off or land without it. Of course I was wrong! My DJI Air 2 has been leaking from various places for a week. Then I decided to fly around my own house. I placed the drone on artificial grass in my garden and encountered a gimbal error. I went to see what was going on and found that the blades of grass on boot up were preventing the gimbal from calibrating itself. While the drone looked good and seemed to do well on the grass, it wasn't high enough off the ground to do what it was supposed to do. Now I was convinced I needed a landing pad. What drew me to this brand was that many reviewers commented on how heavy the pillow was. I live in the desert where wind speeds are 30-40 miles per hour; Not that I would fly in such conditions, but sometimes there is a strong wind. The last thing I want to do is spend extra time on forks in the ground to hold my landing spot. This pad is definitely worth the money and is easy to fold up and carry around.
