Review on New Balance Womens Walking Silver Women's Shoes by Melissa Brown

Another New Balance shoe I love

that may be discontinued. This is my story with NB. I wear the women's size 11.5, which is almost non-existent, so I buy a 12 and put on the amazingly soft Happy Step insole. I have orthotics but the insoles work well and are much more comfortable. Keep this in mind when reading my sizing: I bought more and use insoles. I'm not as young and slim as I used to be, but I still spend many hours on my feet, standing on a concrete slab, this shoe saves me. I only wore these shoes occasionally at first, but they became my go-to for work. I have other NBs notably the WX813 and WW 411, both are cute, light weight but offer less support and comfort. These shoes have suede stitching all around, including the supports that run from the laces to the sides of the toes. The shoe flexes, but not enough to rub against the side of my foot and irritate my near-bump. They endured a lot of insults from me, drove in all weathers and had to be tourists on several occasions. Just bought 2 more pairs because they are so good. I've noticed comments about long laces, the reason for which should be obvious. The shoes have 6 eyelets or holes, so the laces must be long enough to tie all 6. Some omit the bodice for added length. It's easy enough to cut off excess fabric glue or tape the end if it's too long, it's quite difficult to stretch short laces to fit the 6th eyelet.

Pros
  • Rubber outsole
Cons
  • There are new competitors
