Incredibly stable video!

I've been using Osmo Action for a few days now and I'm definitely impressed. An update of the Hero3+ released many years ago has to say that action cameras have really come a long way. I have to start with the Rocksteady feature - the video footage stabilization results are so flawless. It's amazing how well it delivers results electronically. Let's talk about other image stabilization technologies currently used in the industry such as: B. the mechanical IBIS that you find on mirrorless cameras. IBIS sometimes causes image distortion because the camera's sensor moves to counteract the movement of your hand. Not only does IBIS slightly stabilize your image, you still need a stabilizer to get a truly stable image. Another example is when you stabilize regular footage in post-processing using video editing software like iMovie or Final Cut Pro X, your image sometimes suffers from distortion or even vibration blur caused by user steps. With Osmo Action and its Rocksteady feature, there are NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS. You simply get a stable video clip EVERY TIME. I'm a big fan of this stabilization technology. It maintains its small form factor without the need for a bulky gimbal to pack. It just works. The next feature that is a big upgrade over the old Hero3 is that the Osmo Action has a screen. A very large screen for that matter. The Hero3 didn't have that and I always guessed what was in the frame of what I was recording. Not only does it have one screen, but it also has a second screen in front of the camera that you can switch to. Pretty perfect for vlogging and selfies (pretty sure that's the main design idea) but there are plenty of scenarios where that front screen will come in handy for you to control what's in the frame wherever you mount this thing. I want both screens to turn on at the same time so the test subject can see what I'm seeing. Maybe in a future firmware update? To list some other features that I like, there is a D-Cinelike image profile that flattens the image a bit for better editing and does some color correction. Frame rate variety, this thing shoots up to 60 fps at 4K and 240 fps at 1080P so you can create incredible slow motion videos. With all its features, I really see how people can find more ways to use such a device. I know that when I used the old Hero3 I would take it with me on trips and use my main mirrorless camera and only use the Hero3 when taking pictures near water as action cameras are waterproof. So sometimes it just stays in my pocket and never gets used. With Osmo Action and its smooth handheld shooting, I will be using it all the time! You are welcome to take this with you on your journey. Have fun with this amazing technology guys!
