This lamp has many options for adjusting the brightness and color. As far as I can tell it has a pair of rows of bright blue/white LEDs and a pair of amber/white LEDs. The main lighting options are combinations of yellow and blue rows. The theory goes that some of these color configurations are better for learning to read, while others are better for bedtime reading. All in all I find it useful. I use the cloudiest amber setting in bed and the Study setting when awake. I assume most people will find two of the four settings they use and then just change them. The ability to darken and lighten is good. The lamp itself is striking as being a bit ugly - at least according to my wife. It is larger and less elegant than it appears in the photos online. My only complaint - or request for more functionality - has to do with the sleep timer. The feature itself is nice, but could use a few more tweaks. Now it takes 1 hour. I would like 15 or 30 minute increments and I would like to increase the max time to 2 or 3 hours. This feature would be much more useful with this little tweak.
