They come with a type of clear grease on one side which may be sufficient for some applications but considering they are used in a Honda HS520 snow thrower the Ice and snow saturated with sodium chloride A little more lube should help them last longer. I popped the seals out with a small eyeglass screwdriver and refilled them with Mobil 1 waterproof wheel bearing grease. This is the third set of bearings that I have replaced on this snow thrower. They're about 1/6th the cost of OEM Honda bearings, and after they're filled with grease I expect they'll be the last ones I buy.
