I bought this for my boyfriend in the UK in December 2016. I worked 3 months and the video output with HDMI and VGA stopped working. As the item was used in the UK and I'm in the US I couldn't figure out why there was no video and my non-technical friend struggled with the laptop display for three months before I was able to return to the UK for a couple of months later. weeks ago and found that the device had died. I bought another device to get it working again. After I posted the above post, Cable Matters contacted me and refunded the money. While it initially worked for me, it was a great device and met all my needs. I will buy another block and try again next time I need something like this. I would wish a lot more if it had power so I could use a slot on a laptop.
