Review on High-Performance Oreck Commercial Professional Upright U2000RB1: The Ultimate Cleaning Power by Jeff Sprunk

We are very disappointed with this product. My wife and I bought this to support an American company and buy an American made product. We have owned this vacuum less than 3 months when the circuit board blew out while my wife was vacuuming the wooden floor. We diagnosed the problem ourselves and contacted Oreck to see if we could get a replacement board. We received a replacement circuit board from an authorized workshop and had it replaced. The vacuum cleaner ran for less than 10 minutes before blowing out again. We took the vacuum back to an authorized workshop and they replaced the circuit board AND the motor under warranty. Again, the home vacuum ran for less than 10 minutes before blowing out again. With the electricity in our house, that's not a problem. I'm an auto technician with an electrician certification so I know how it works. Our home is new construction and I checked the voltage and frequency with a Fluke 115 multimeter. The authorized repair shop said there was nothing else they could do and apparently there are other vacuum issues that they cannot diagnose and contact Orek directly. We contacted Oreck and were emailed to say they cannot refund the product as we purchased it from Revain. We can no longer request a refund from Revain. We are very disappointed with this vacuum cleaner which we paid a lot of money for but after a few months it stopped working.
