I wanted something that would allow me to take steady shots but also add something to myself. I was about to buy a monitor mount adapter but I noticed that another threaded mounting hole was drilled in the top of the shoulder rest. My cold shoe mount is screwed on! I pushed the shoulder rest forward and attached the monitor to it. It works like a champ and I'm very happy with the layout. However, I had to make an adapter to raise the front box half an inch to allow my gripped Nikon D500 to be mounted with the lens aligned. Overall I'm very happy with this setup.
