Sufficient but not as sharp as we would like. However, really sharp ones can only be bought from a surgical instrument company for over $250. I bought these because they are spring loaded opening scissors. They come in a beautiful zipped case with a loop sewn on the back to secure the scissors and a clear plastic cap to protect the tips. $250-$300 surgical scissors are NOT included.
